Marty Anderson is the man who makes up Okay, a band which started as his solo project from Dilute and now has become a collaboration with a few other close friends of his. He makes ridiculously amazing things. Alot of people know him for making music that is beautiful in a way that a prism takes light in and retracts it into a million pieces, melodies that are blithe, but horrowing with soft truths that allow you to feel him in them. However, few know that he creates these amazing drawings, being described by one person as “a nice balance of being completely creepy and confusingly adorable.” Appreciate him, because he lives his life, although i can bet you have never been through the things he has had happen.

It just isn’t the same on radio.
It’s all about the makeup and the dancing and the Oh”

Edible Chocolate Screen Printing (Basically a revolution.)

April 15, 2009

This is so amazing. I kind of freaked out when I saw it so I immediately went and got the supplies. I figured it would be smarter to start with something simple, so I’ll probably be doing something like a flower or a cartoon face. Well, if it turns out nicely I’ll get some pictures up. Here are the actual instructions and pictures:

step 1Finding the picture

You will need:
– Printer and paper
– white parchment paper
– baking spray or oil
– tape
– cutting board
– white chocolate
– dark chocolate
– clean thin paintbrushes
– toothpicks

Find the picture you’d like to paint, or take it yourself.
Pictures with high contrast work best.
With a picture editing software, make it a black and white picture.
Then turn up the contrast so much that it only has two colors: Black and white.
Flip it horizontally and print the result.
As an alternative, if you google pumpkin carving patterns, you may find some nice pictures that you can print directly.
Now tape the picture to the cutting board.

Step 2Preparing the picture
Tape the parchment paper on top of it.
Put some cooking spray or oil on a kitchen towel, and wipe the parchment paper with it to lightly grease it.
Step 3Melt the chocolate
Break the white chocolate into pieces and melt it in the microwave or in a double boiler.
Step 4Painting the white areas
Using a paintbrush or toothpicks, paint the white areas of the picture.
Put it in the fridge until it is completely hardened.
Step 5 Adding The Dark Chocolate
Then melt the dark chocolate and pout it over the whole design, the thicker, the better.
Let this harden completely as well.

Step 6 It Is Finished
Now you should be able to flip the chocolate piece over and peel off the parchment paper.
You can use this as a cake topper, or just a piece of candy.

The Luxury of Casual Daytrips

Late Bloomer

This is a fairly pretentious thing to do, which is what makes it a little ironic. I really just want a concentrated pile of interesting things I can look at without having to daily sift through the shit tons of magazines and things I’ve accumulated. If it is really a waste of time to constantly be looking for something exciting to read or see, then I suppose I have wasted a lot of time. Really, this is just a little speck of dust. I intend to enjoy this speck of dust. I am really good at enjoying specks of dust, so this should fit right in to my unnecessary lifestyle of watching amazing people do amazing things and sitting around without trying those amazing things. Heeeeerrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeee goooeeeesssss noootttthinggggggg.
